Longans

These fruits are very similar to lychee's and taste very much the same as it. However these fruits look very different. Despite the ugly look compared to the lychees, don't judge the taste before you try it.
Longans
Lychees

The word Longans means Dragon eye because when you bite half way through the flesh is a black seed which make it look like an eye.

The flesh of the longans is smoother than the lychees and is certainly sweeter. If you like lychees then you would love this! Plus, health wise the Longans are better for you because it doesn't give you too much internal heat whereas the lychees gives you alot which can lead to rash and spots to grow on your skin. These will sure replace the lychees

Durian fruit

This big and spiky fruit is a stink bomb! To get to the flesh you need to cut it open. It sounds much easier than done. Well it's so hard to cut open the fruit that you need a meat clavier as you can see on the picture. But that not the end of the trouble of opening it, you can hardly get a grip on. It's so spiky that when my dad tried to use a cloth to get grip it still spiked him. At the end of all that trouble you eventually get nice yellow segments of flesh.

When you bit into it, it has a creamy custard texture. The first bit tastes like rotten onions and in butter and cheese. However on your second bit it tastes like sweet creamy custard with high flavour almonds. AMAZING! It smells awful, however you will probably have to brush your teeth after. You should give it a try, might be challenging. If you don't like it first time give it a second try, you'll know what I'm on about.

Welcome!

I love Asian foods. Americans and Europeans should have some courage to explore Asian foods. I'm a European my-self. My name is Gar-Kin, well... OK! I don't sound like a European guy and some might say I'll brag about the foods. However I was born in England and I've got a European taste. I'll be honest, the first time I tried Asian food; I was pretty scared to try the weird looking fruits and crazy dishes, but it turned out they were Delicious! But some I couldn't handle. On this blog I'll be telling you about my experiences with some of the weirdest foods on the planet.
